Our History

Founded in 1994 by Abraham J. and Phyllis Katz, the foundation was the culmination of Abraham’s successful business career with Kason Industries and the passion of Phyllis, an accomplished pianist.

In an effort to give back to society, to further Phyllis’s love of music and the arts, and to honor Abraham’s interest in advancing medical research, the foundation has contributed more than $93 million to nonprofits and institutions of higher learning since its inception.
